My Testimony –

Riddle:

You can’t throw me but you can catch me. Ways to lose me are always being sought. What am I?

Answer: A cold

Why did the unemployed man get excited while looking through the Bible?

Answer: He saw the book of Job and thought it was a Job advert

Last Week Recap:

Job’s friends were not helpful with their words of comfort.

We should always put ourselves in the position of the person we are trying to help.

Words can be comforting, but many times a hug, sitting and listening quietly, or providing for someone’s physical needs can bring more comfort.

Memory Verse:

Bible readings:

God confronts Job –

Job’s response to God: Job 40:1-14 –

Conclusion:

Summary of the book of Job –

Discussions Questions:

  • What type of questions did the Lord ask? (God asked Job questions about the mysteries of creation, the heavens, and nature.)
  • What is God trying to teach Job through these questions? (God questioned Job to show that He was in control of the universe, not Job.)
  • Was Job able to answer God’s questions? (No, Job realized that he was unworthy to reply.)
  • what did the Lord do for Job in the latter part of his life? (The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the first.)

Applications & Key Thoughts:

  • In our lesson today, Job didn’t discover why he went through so many difficulties, but he did realize that God is in control
  • We learned that God’s ways are higher than our ways and that His understanding has no limits
  • Like Job, we may not know all the reasons for the difficulties we face. However, we can take comfort in knowing that God is in control, He loves us, and He works all things together for the good of those who love Him.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, when we face difficult situations gently remind us that You are in control. Help us remember that Your ways are higher than our ways. We take comfort in knowing that Your Understanding has no limits. In Jesus name…Amen 🙏🏽
